May 2005 - Pan Canadian Standard a consideration
..
The Reference Model for Management Services Series (MRM, PSRM, GSRM), are gaining momentum as instruments to speak the same language for use in service transformation across all levels of government.
At this year's Lac Carling 2005 entitled "Service
Transformation, Taking
the Next Steps Together", plenary
sessions covered service
mapping initiatives and
success stories from all
governments, and highlighted
work we do. A standard
approach to transforming government will assist in multi jurisdictional
efforts, and assist in better outcomes to citizens.
The Lac Carling Agenda can be viewed at:
Lac
Carling 2005
Chartwell CEO & President Jeff Smith attended, along with 20 other vendors and 200 government delegates. Outcomes will be featured in CIO Government June/July 2005 edition.
Exciting Projects!
Chartwell's team has been working on a number of key multi jurisdictional initiatives, the Collaborative Senior's Portal; the Collaborative Ontario Immigration Portal and the Common Portal for the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities and the Ministry of Education.
Exciting work is taking place, a through line from business architecture to logical design. These are significant milestones for government's agenda for e-service delivery excellence. Work to date has been well received.
Chartwell has a new opportunity in the financial sector, to apply the business modeling methods to a major merger. Exciting work ahead!
Our Education Program, launched formally with our Nexient
Learning partner in
April 2004, has been
extremely well received.
We have supplemented
our curriculum development
to include additional
courses, from the business
architecture, to the
logical architecture
layer. The evaluations
from participants have
been excellent. Our plan
includes exploring university
credits for an MBA Program
for Business Design,
more to come on that.
The courses are aligned with both the Federal and Provincial EA programs. Participants from all clusters in the province have been on the training, as well as folks from various Federal departments from Ottawa to BC. An approach receiving great feedback has been providing architecture consulting expertise in concert with training the business analysts and project managers on large transformation engagements, ramping up the team so all participants speak the same language and understand the standards and approach. It's a team building/knowledge transfer approach that mobilizes the team, creates excitement and a shared understanding. A good deal of customized training and mentoring has also gone hand in hand with consulting delivery.
This is a great value
proposition for our clients.
